I started with Dr. Elmer the 1st of November 2008. At that time I was in considerable pain. I have had three major car accidents and I fell of my horse and had a compression fractured the T12 in my back. Dr. Elmer took X-Rays (of Course). I had little or no spacing between the vertebrae. I had been to two neurosurgeons (one was UCLA trained and the other was at UCLA). Both doctors suggested physical therapy and cortisone injections. Neither gave me any relief from the pain and I did not want surgery on my neck. My sister had started with Dr. Elmer and was progressing very nicely.

I was in California at the time and my husband saw an ad in the paper by a Chiropractor. I called and asked if he practiced that Pettibon System. I made an appointment for a consultation and he told me he was coming to Las Vegas to meet with Dr. Elmer and start practicing the Pettibon system.

I got back to Las Vegas a little better but I still could not do housework, pickup my grand kids, groom my horse, or vacuum my house. After 3 months, Dr. Elmer re-X-Rayed the back and we could see that I then had space between the vertebrae and my level of pain was greatly reduced.

Just this past week (4-27-09) I was able to help the farrier with 3 hours. I groomed them and actually picked up the feet on the horses. I had not been able to do that for at least a year and a half.

The spine has 2 functions:

It supports and keeps us upright. The way our spine supports us is called our POSTURE.
It protects the spinal cord.

A healthy spinal cord is ESSENTIAL to our overall health. The way our bodies work is the brain controls all the functions of the body. It does that by sending energy down the spinal cord. The spinal cord is like a river carrying life energy from the brain, through the spine to ALL the vital organs and tissues of our body. Each and every organ is TOTALLY DEPENDENT on that energy to keep us alive and healthy.

Beause of different stresses in our lives, some sudden and some over time, the bones in our spine SHIFT out of place. These shifts in the vertebrae are called SUBLUXATIONS. When subluxations occure they block the energy to the organs at that level. It's like a dimmer switch on a wall. When the energy gets turned down, it can't get through the nerves to the organs and the organs at the end of those nerves will progressively weaken and degenerate over time and cause disease. When the organs don't get the vital energy they need, your OVERALL health will progressively weaken and degenerate over time, and eventurally lead to disease.
